For Better or Worse: Divorce in Oklahoma

The State of Oklahoma has a long history of frequent divorces among its citizenry. While divorces have fallen since the 1980’s, in 2024, the divorce rate per 1,000 married women ranked Oklahoma No. 1 in the U.S. with a rate of 20.7 divorces per 1,000 married women. Next highest were Nevada, Mississippi, Wyoming and Alabama. We must let the numbers speak for themselves. If you live in Oklahoma, you stand a reasonable chance of getting divorced.
